Getting to Helsinki and Around Helsinki

Helsinki is a very accessible city by plane, train, bus, and boat. There are also several options to get to and from the Center and Hotels and all around downtown. From the airport to the hotels, you can take either a taxi or train.

The HSL App makes traveling easy. With the HSL App, you can find routes and buy single-day, multi-journey, season, and zone extension tickets. You can pay your tickets by a debit or credit card that you have linked to the App. You can pay by VISA, VISA Electron, Mastercard and Amex. You can also pay with Mobile Pay. Taxi

Taxi services are provided by several companies with different pricing systems. In the taxi station at the airport, lanes 1-3 show the pricing information on boards. Taksi Helsinki (lane 2) has a simple pricing of 2.00 €/km which makes it about 32 € to the conference venue and hotels.
Notes: (1) Avoid Lane 4 for better pricing. (2) While the companies are offering fixed prices to city center, the conference venue and hotels are not in that region.

Trains

Trains going both directions (commuter trains I and P) will take you to the venue, conference hotels, and city center. For the venue and conference hotels, step out in Pasila (the second last stop). For city center, continue to the main railway station (final stop). You will need an ABC ticket.

Directions from the Train from the Pasila Stop

• Messukeskus and Holiday Inn Expo: walk the pier back to the direction where the train came from, walk to the underpass, turn right, cross the traffic lights and continue the street ‘Rautatieläisenkatu’. You’ll find soon both Messukeskus and Holiday Inn on your left.
• Original Sokos Hotel Tripla: take escalators up to the mall and follow the signs, the hotel is in the mall.
• Scandic Pasila: take escalators up, walk out the building and turn right (West) on Pasilansilta. Use Google maps or HSL app to find your hotel with an address Maistraatinportti 3. The distance is 600 m, 8 min walk. You can do the first half of the walk also inside the mall. Alternatively you can take a tram 9 (or bus  23) to the next stop (Esterinportti) from where there is 150 m walk. The same ticket applies as in the train. There are also taxis at this station.
